Kazakhstan approves ratification bill on customs offices with Uzbekistan

On 21 October 2026, Kazakhstan’s Kurultai approved in two readings a bill to ratify an agreement with Uzbekistan on opening customs representative offices. The agreement was signed in Tashkent on 15 November 2025.

It provides for information exchange and coordination between customs authorities.

What shippers should consider

This is a step in bilateral cooperation, not an announcement of new cargo-clearance procedures. The releases specify neither an opening date nor new carrier requirements. Shipment schedules should not assume faster border clearance solely on this announcement.
